Catullus c.84BC – c.54BC translated poem and Confucius qUoTEs

Silence is a friend who will never betray.

Of all that heaven has produced and earth nourishes, the greatest is man, heaven’s purpose is contained in our nature.

What the superior man seeks is in himself; what the small man seeks is in others.

The superior man is modest in his speech, but exceeds in his actions.

Ability will never catch up with the demand for it.

I want you to be everything that’s you, deep at the center of your being.

Speak the truth, do not yield to anger; give, if thou art asked for little; by these three steps thou wilt go near the gods.

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

The superior man acts before he speaks, and afterwards speaks according to his action.
